I have an old HP desktop with an onboard Intel G running Windows XP SP3and while it does x, if something requires conhroller than 96 MB of video memory, it crashes, or fails, or generates an error message saying it’s trying to pass checks the Intel G can’t cash. But my computer’s dedicated graphics memory is 96 MB.

In any case whatever application or game I try to run if it bases its Video RAM requirement on what Windows XP is reporting it controlle be incorrect anyway. Click on the following links for the driver package readme info: Intel Contoller G Graphics Controller. If it’s possible, the option settings will be in the BIOS. Let us know what you find.
I include it as additional information for research on this issue.
On the longer run, Bon Gart is right, a pci video card is a much better option. I don’t want credit for anything, and the points don’t matter.
